Selling your car, transferring registration, or bringing one in from interstate? You need a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC). We're a licensed Vehicle Tester and can issue one the same day in most cases.

The questions we get most.

How long is a Roadworthy Certificate valid?

A VicRoads Roadworthy Certificate is valid for 30 days from issue. It's typically required for vehicle sale, registration transfer, or re-registration of an unregistered vehicle.

What if my car doesn't pass?

You get a written list of items needing rectification. You can either book the work with us (we'll re-test for free if rectifications are done here) or take the list elsewhere — no obligation. We won't artificially fail items to win the repair job.

Can you do roadworthies on modified vehicles?

Most modifications are fine. Engineering-certified modifications (suspension drops, turbo upgrades, etc.) need to be presented with their certificates. Non-compliant modifications (illegal tints, unfiltered intakes, decat exhausts on a road car) will fail — we'll tell you up front what needs reverting.
